Congratulations to our 2024 IB Diploma Cohort

Sixth Form

Congratulations to our International Baccalaureate Diploma students who were among 190,000 IB Diploma students worldwide to receive their results at the weekend.

This year’s large cohort has received a 100% pass rate. Between them, they have achieved an average point score of 36, against a global average of 30, and the UK average of 34.6. This continues a trend at RHB for our IB students to achieve results which exceed the global IB average. Seven of our students achieved the 39 points required for Oxbridge and medicine offers.

These IB students leave us with a broad knowledge and skill base, well-equipped to take on the challenges of university life, gap years and employment. The diversity of the subjects they are pursuing and the destinations they have chosen, reflects the breadth of interests and skills within our student body, and the Royal High’s focus on supporting students to find their individual strengths and passions.

They include: Head girl, Jess who gained full marks, 45 out of a possible 45 points, and is off to Exeter University to study Medicine; Annabel who scored 42 points and has secured her place to study Medicine, Alice who heads for York to study Biomedical Sciences; Katharina who has secured her place at UCL to study French with Management Studies; and Sofia who heads to the US to take up a highly competitive athletics scholarship at University of North Carolina. Two of our A Level students were able to take advantage of our IB offer and studied Mandarin and Spanish at standard level with both students securing a certificate in their subjects.

Head, Hadrian Briggs adds: “Congratulations to these hardworking students who have achieved across a wide range of subjects with really exciting future prospects. We are so proud of them. The popularity of the IB continues to grow as pupils and their parents realise the breadth and potential it offers. We look forward to welcoming next year’s cohort in September.”
