A Journey to Remember: Battlefields of Northern France
Senior School, Co-curricular & Trips
As half term began, our English and History students embarked on a profound educational trip to the Battlefields of Belgium and Northern France, exploring ares of conflict during the First World War around Ypres and the Somme. The experience was both moving and enriching for everyone involved, with the group studying some poignant poetry of the time, visiting immaculate cemeteries, and stepping into the historic muddy trenches that hold countless stories of courage and sacrifice.
Many thanks to the dedicated staff who led the trip and made it possible for our incredible students, whose curiosity and respectful engagement with some challenging subjects made them a real credit to our school, which itself holds a rich military history.
There was fun too - the lure of a persuasive chocolatier should not be underestimated.
