“ We recognized the importance of addressing issues surrounding mental health and substance misuse within our school community. The Amy Winehouse Foundation's approach to these sensitive topics resonated with us, and we believe that by fostering open dialogue and providing access to valuable resources, we can empower our students to make informed decisions and lead fulfilling lives.”Hannah Morton, Head of PHSE
We were thrilled to welcome the Amy Winehouse Foundation to our school on Friday, 23 February. It was indeed a day filled with inspiration, meaningful discussions, and valuable insights.
Antonia and Joe, representatives from the Amy Winehouse Foundation, delivered talks that left an indelible mark on both students and staff alike. Their words resonated deeply, shedding light on the importance of mental health awareness, substance misuse prevention, and the power of education in shaping positive futures.
The feedback we've received from our students has been overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed how the talks from Antonia and Joe provided them with a renewed sense of hope and motivation to make positive choices in their lives. Their personal stories served as a testament to resilience, highlighting the transformative impact of seeking support and staying committed to personal growth.
As a result of the profound impact of their visit, we are excited to announce that we will be working closely with the Amy Winehouse Foundation again in the future. Collaborating with such dedicated and passionate individuals aligns perfectly with our school's commitment to nurturing holistic development and creating a supportive environment for all our students.
In reflecting on why we decided to welcome Antonia and Joe to our school, Senior Teacher Hannah Morton shared, "We recognized the importance of addressing issues surrounding mental health and substance misuse within our school community. The Amy Winehouse Foundation's approach to these sensitive topics resonated with us, and we believe that by fostering open dialogue and providing access to valuable resources, we can empower our students to make informed decisions and lead fulfilling lives."
We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Amy Winehouse Foundation and exploring new opportunities to support the well-being and personal growth of our students.
Thank you to Antonia, Joe, and the entire Amy Winehouse Foundation team for their impactful visit, and to our students and staff for their engagement and enthusiasm.
