Beacon Rise Primary School visit our Steinway Music School

We were delighted to welcome the young musicians of Beacon Rise Primary School recently for a fun-filled day of music and recording. We started with a tour of our beautiful recording studio, showing the students how we capture sound using microphones and music technology.
In our Recital Room, our fantastic Year 8 music technicians, Maude and Elaine, were busy setting up microphones for the tuned percussion section, giving every student the chance to perform. Later, all these recordings will be compiled into a collaborative piece of music.
The pupils had a great time exploring the many tuned instruments we have at RHB, including the marimba, xylophone, and glockenspiel. We also welcomed some keen pianists and guitarists, who contributed their own ideas to the song.
It was a fantastic day, and the pupils of Beacon Rise were engaged throughout, learning about the recording studio and different types of percussion—something we at the Royal High School Bath are always excited to share.
