Boarders enjoy activities in the sunshine
Senior School, Boarding
“ Our beautiful spacious school grounds meant that our Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 boarders did not have to go far, they just needed to step outside their boarding house and into the zorbs just outside on Chapel Field.”
Our boarders made the most of the glorious weather this weekend, taking part in a variety of outdoor activities from A-Z; archery and zorbing!
On Saturday, the girls awoke to an amazingly sunny day which boded well for the activity of the day which was zorbing. Our beautiful spacious school grounds meant that our Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 boarders did not have to go far, they just needed to step outside their boarding house and into the zorbs just outside on Chapel Field.
Our borders had a fantastic time rolling around in the zorbs across the school grounds. However, they also took part in a variety of games, including Bulldog which saw one team trying to get to the other side without getting knocked down by those who are 'on' and joining their team for the next round if they did fall over.
The girls also enjoyed one-on-one challenges to see who could knock the other over, both with run-ups! However, the one that probably caused the most hilarity was the forward roll challenge where they each took a turn rolling forward and upside-down - trying not to get stuck upside-down!
On Sunday, which was another beautifully sunny day, our Years 7-10 boarders enjoyed Battle Archery. They started with 'battles' where they tried to shoot each other with foam-tipped arrows. They then used tactics in a game called 'Zombies'. They played teams of four 'zombies' Vs everyone else ('humans'); if a zombie shot a human, the human became a zombie, but if a human shot a zombie, the zombie was out. Victory to the zombies first and then to the humans!
We are fortunate to have a great group of boarders who always try to make the most of the activities whatever the weather. However the gorgeous weather over the weekend really did make a difference and was fantastic for the girls who really enjoyed themselves throughout both activities. Great weather is here to be appreciated and helped add to a wonderful first weekend back into the Summer term for our boarders!
