Boarding at RHS
Royal High voices, Sixth Form, Senior School
Our boarders in School House had a packed weekend full of fantastic activities. All girls kept busy and active with fitness, basketball and walks around the grounds. On Saturday evening the girls took part in a whole house quiz which saw the Year 9s crowned the winners!
On Sunday we started Christmas activities, with the Year 7 and 8s enjoyed hours of Christmas crafts followed by a festive film afternoon.
Quiz Evening - Anastasiia, Year 1
At the moment, due to lockdown restrictions, the boarding staff are working very hard to keep all of the boarders busy at the weekends with lots of fun! Therefore, as one of our weekend activities, the whole house had a quiz night! Year 10 and 11 made a quiz for the younger boarders, and they made one for us. We had 5 categories: General Knowledge, Food, Sport, Pictures and Films, and there were lots of delicious snacks and drinks provided for us. It was such a great activity because we all spent the evening together having fun.
Christmas Crafts and Film - Hayley, Year 8
On Sunday afternoon, Year 6, 7 and 8 watched a movie called "Elf" directed by Jon Favreau, we were given very nice snacks such as crisps, some chocolate, popcorn, and hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream. The main character Buddy was funny and fit his role perfectly as one of Santa's biggest helpers. All of us that watched it really enjoyed the movie.
Christmas crafts were super fun and exciting, we all made Christmas cards for our friends and family. First, we cut out images of Christmas trees, reindeers, and bells then stuck photos on with blue tack. We then nicely dabbed paint on the edges of the image using our fingers, after that we took off the photo which created a design. We then added letters, glitter, sketches and much more. All of us had really good designs which were unique.
Christmas Crafts - Charleen, Year 6
I really enjoyed the Christmas crafts this weekend with Miss Standerline, it was really interesting and so much fun. We made Christmas cards using paint, glitter, stencils and crayons - I really hope we can do Christmas crafts again!
