Catering team win Sustainable Edible Christmas award
Senior School
“ The Holroyd Howe team at Royal High School impressed us with their two-week campaign...which consistently showcased high quality dishes, #sustainableediblechristmas educational messaging, tasteful and considered seasonal decor and a particularly engaging display.”
With 40 million crackers and an estimated 23k tonnes of food said to be wasted every Christmas in the UK, leading independent schools caterer, Holroyd Howe ran a Sustainable Edible Christmas campaign to help chefs increase their sustainability and help our planet!
Congratulations to our Royal High School Bath catering team who have been named as the overall winner in the Holroyd Howe #Sustainableediblechristmas social media competition, which took place in the lead up to Christmas.
Holroyd Howe's Sustainable Edible Christmas campaign is just one of the many Future-proof Food concepts the catering company has developed to communicate how a sustainable diet can be good for us and good for our planet. With a wide range of festive recipes and interactive chef demonstrations to choose from, teams from independent schools across the country were encouraged to enter the competition, with judging criteria based on: 1) the visual impact of dishes, 2) the visual impact of marketing, 3) engagement on your social media profile and 4) evidence of team effort or pupil engagement.
Dan Collier, Chef Director for Holroyd Howe, and one of the judging panel said “The Holroyd Howe team at Royal High School impressed us with their two-week campaign of Twitter posts, which consistently showcased high quality dishes, #sustainableediblechristmas educational messaging, tasteful and considered seasonal decor and a particularly engaging display, via use of a toy trainset to guide the eye around a selection of scrumptious puddings”.
