Competition winners meet Mary Berry
Senior School
Three winners of a cookery competition celebrating the school's 25th anniversary had the opportunity to meet one of the UK’s most loved cookery stars and Royal High alumna, Dame Mary Berry, during her evening event this week at The Forum.
Students, Charlotte, Harriet and Hettie, took part in a cookery competition where they had to design and make a starter for a celebratory Christmas meal and cook and serve their dish within a one-hour time frame. They were chosen from many students who took part in the competition from across Years 7, 8 and 9.
As well as enjoying Mary Berry’s talk, the students had the opportunity to meet the baking star, gain inspiration and draw on her extensive experience. They also received a signed copy of her new book.
Mrs Reynolds said: “We’re very proud of every student who took part in this year’s Christmas Cookery Competition. The standard was exceptionally high, but we were very impressed with the ideas and dishes that Charlotte, Harriet and Hettie created. I’m sure they will have a wonderful time meeting Mary Berry and that it will further fuel their enthusiasm for baking.”
Mary Berry is an alumna of Bath High School - which merged with the Royal School in 1998 to form Royal High School Bath - and remains one of the school’s most well-known students.
