Enterprising Year 12s pitch their ideas at London School of Economics

Sixth Form, GDST

19 Year 12s visited the London School of Economics last week as part of the GDST LEAD programme (LEAD stands for Leadership and Enterprise Advanced Diploma).  Over 200 girls from across the GDST were gathered to take part in a Dragon's Den-style 'final showcase.' Since September the LEAD teams have been meeting weekly to learn about entrepreneurship and develop their own business plan, with the added challenge of having to come up with an original idea that was sustainable and aligned with the UN Sustainability Goals.

Last week's event was the culmination of their hard work. Two RHSB teams pitched their ideas to a judging panel in front of a 100+ crowd. The challenge of coming up with a business idea, conducting market research, writing a business plan and presenting at LSE was a formidable challenge but the students managed it all brilliantly. After the adrenalin rush of presenting in front of the judges, they enjoyed the chance to eat lunch whilst soaking up the atmosphere of LSE's campus.
