Frohe Ostern!
Senior School
Art competition award ceremony
To celebrate the arrival of Easter this year in our German department, students in Years 7-9 were invited to decorate eggs. The tradition of Eierblasen – blowing out a real egg to hang outdoors on the Osterbaum (Easter tree) or indoors on the Osterstrauch (Easter bouquet) is widespread in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, along with the traditional Eiersuche (egg hunt) and Eierrollen (rolling eggs down a hill!) as part of the Easter festivities.
The winning entry was a beautiful butterfly egg decorated by Liv in Year 7. Also highly commended were creative designs by Martha, Year 7 and Jemima, Year 9.
