House Dance and Drama 2024
Sixth Form, Senior School, Performing Arts
“ Thank you for bringing the energy! What an amazing embodiment of this wonderful place. Seeing year 7s to year 13s dancing, singing, smiling and laughing together is really very special, and shows the sense of community and collaboration that is really quite unique to our school.”Mr Benedict
Our House Dance and Drama competition 2024 saw girls from all four houses performing a 15-minute dance theatre show on a theme of their choice. The senior school got together in the Sports Hall for an afternoon of collaboration, community spirit and joy, created by the students, following many weeks of rehearsals. An annual event, the House Dance & Drama competition is highly anticipated, and a highlight of the term.
This year Austen house reinterpreted The Lion King, Bronte's performance was based on Mamma Mia, Wollstonecraft chose High School Musical, and Du Pre based their performance on the Princess and the Frog. The shows were all created and choreographed by the girls themselves with the House Prefects and Sixth form leading over a number of weeks.
The houses were awarded in the following categories:
Creativity - Wollstonecraft
Acting - Du Pre
Performance - Austen
Singing - Bronte
Dance and choreography - Bronte
With the overall winner being Bronte.
