Meet our Head of Year 8 and 9
Senior School
Tell us about yourself
I joined Royal High School in 2002, making this my 18th year at the school! I studied Natural Science at the University of Bath and continued there to complete my PGCE. I currently teach Physics in Years 8-13 and science in Year 7.
I have also recently taught Maths in Years 7-9, and I have a keen interest in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and help support Year 9 with their Bronze Award.
What are you looking forward to?
This role is a more focused position than my role as Deputy Head of KS3, I will be able to concentrate on working with Year 8 as their journey through RHS continues. In Year 9, I think one of the most exciting prospects is choosing GCSE topics. It is the opportunity for girls to direct their studies towards subjects in which they have a particular flare or interest.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself
In 2010, I took a group of Sixth Form girls out to Ghana, where we built a technology building for a school situated in a village close to the Togo boarder.
