Mid-Somerset Festival - Speech and Drama 2024

Last week RHB girls performed at Mid-Somerset Festival as part of the Speech and Drama festival, with over 40 entries in different classes, including Solo Acting, Duo Acting, Verse Speaking and Prose. Every entrant performed with skill and bravery, many performing at the festival for the first time. All students received impressively high marks, with 4 First place awards, 4 Second place and 8 Thirds.
A special mention goes to Ellie in Y12 who won 3 of her categories, coming second in her other two. Ellie was also asked to perform in the Winners Concert at The Mission Theatre showcasing the festivals outstanding performances.

Being placed in many of the various classes over the course of the week is certainly something to be celebrated, but also having students stand up in front of an unknown audience for the first time takes true courage!"
