Musical delight at Christmas Extravaganza
Music
Last night, music students kicked off the countdown to Christmas performing at the annual Christmas Extravaganza in the Memorial Hall.
They wowed the audience with a variety of Christmas performances including popular songs, traditional carols and instrumental pieces.
The evening began with the beautiful 'Christmas Fantastique' performed by the Orchestra, followed by a mixture of contemporary and traditional songs by the Key Stage 3 Choir. The Chamber Choir performed traditional carols including 'In the bleak midwinter' and 'Christmas Star', while the incredible and beautiful harmonies of 'O Holy Night' were performed to perfection.
The evening also saw our brass instrumentalists perform 'Satin Doll', a merry rendition of 'Jingle Bell Rock' and a very special performance on trumpet of 'Silent Night' arranged by our Head of Music, Mark Bradbury.
Our talented harpist and pianists also took to the stage to perform solos and piano duets.
We're incredibly proud of all our musicians who took part. The evening was full of talent and was a wonderful way for everyone involved to begin the Christmas celebrations.
