A new student leadership team to be proud of
Sixth Form, Senior School, Student Voice
Congratulations to our new student leadership team, who, this week, have stepped into their new roles. The school community is in safe hands with these inspiring girls at the forefront.
The formal prefect handover took place during our Senior School assembly this week, with huge thanks given to the fantastic prefect cohort of 22/23, and our Head Girl Annabel. This was the group that endured major disruption due to Covid in key exam years, but have shown resilience and have inspired the school in all they have achieved including:
Helping the school to achieve a Green Flag Status for Sustainability
Raising more than £10k for Ukrainian humanitarian relief
Firmly embedding career pathways throughout the school system
Undivided Terminology guide – wrote glossary of words to empower whole community to engage in difficult discourse surrounding diversity and inclusion
Enhancing cultural heritage celebrations through the senior school – ISA and their amazing celebrations
Celebrating diversity across school
Organising Vintage sports day to mark the Queen’s jubilee
Our new Head Girl Jess heads up a fantastic team, and said in her acceptance speech to the school:
“I want to acknowledge the huge amount of faith and confidence I have in this year’s leadership team. We have such strength and depth that I’m confident we can make meaningful change for you.”
There were over 45 applicants for the leadership roles, and this year we have launched new prefect roles including Well-Being Prefects, Community Communications Prefect, Career Prefects, and Sports Prefects.
An ongoing focus for the leadership team will be student voice and, welcoming input from all students across the school, Head Girl Jess said:
“We want changes this year to be as a result of your ideas. Speak to us in the lunch hall, between lessons, in school council meetings, and please get your voice heard, there is nothing more valuable than your opinions.”
