Next Steps
Sixth Form
Our Next Steps evening marks the launch of the UCAS and Further Education process for Year 12 students and parents, and gives an introduction to all of the options available.
We are proud of the support we provide for our students in helping them look towards this with confidence. Whilst the vast majority of our students apply through UCAS for a university-based degree course some apply for other courses such as Foundation courses, enter employment or even embark on a gap year.
The Next Steps evening formally launches the application cycle for Year 12. Throughout the evening we give an overview of all options available to students when deciding how to continue once their learning at Royal High School Bath has come to a close, and then offer a choice of more detailed talks covering the main options including UCAS, Art Foundation, Oxbridge and Apprenticeships.
We even have sessions covering funding and finance so that parents and students can make more informed choices.
Our Next Steps evening is followed up in the Summer Term with two full Application Days and an Academic Evening with a focus on the choices being made for the future.
Throughout the Autumn Term of Year 13 every student applying through UCAS is interviewed regarding their application and once all checks have been made, the form is sent.
For those applying for Art Foundation courses, guidance is offered on this process and the all-important portfolio. For those applying Overseas, we produce grade transcripts and references where requested.
