Orchestral and choral concert with Portsmouth High Prep
Nursery and Prep School, Music
“ The pupils' enthusiasm and hard work clearly paid off as the day ended with a fantastic music-filled concert at 2pm which also featured soloists from both schools.”
We were delighted to have 30 girls from Portsmouth High Prep join about 20 of our Royal High School Bath Prep pupils in the Orchestra for a wonderful day of music making on Saturday 18 March.
Talented musicians from both schools rehearsed together working
on three choral items and four orchestral pieces, including one composed by Portsmouth High’s own Mrs Hill, Prep School Director of Music.
The pupils' enthusiasm and hard work clearly paid off as the day ended with a fantastic music-filled concert at 2pm which also featured soloists from both schools. It was brilliant for the girls to share what they had been working on with an audience, and fabulous to see them performing so well together as a group while highlighting their individual musical abilities.
We are very proud to be part of the extended family of GDST schools and always love getting together in person with other schools in the network. Huge thanks to Mrs Hill, the Portsmouth High Prep girls and of course our own Royal High girls for working so hard and making the day such fun. We are really proud of you all.
Also, a big thank you to Paul and Tracey for the delicious lunch and to Ms Rejiester, Mrs Pocock and Mrs Lilley for all their support on the day.
