Buzzing With Excitement

Last week Year 2 had a very exciting visitor. Lyn Sykes, the President of the Bath Beekeeping Association, came in to share lots of her knowledge on bees with us. She brought in some beekeeping equipment for us to look at including parts from an old hive, a bee smoker and some bee keeping protective clothes, which Livvie dressed up in. Lyn also brought in some real-life bees, which thankfully were safely shut away in a display hive! It was fascinating to watch the bees go about their business and to spot the queen bee, eggs and larvae. We even got to try some different honeys! It really brought our theme to life and we would like to thank Lyn for giving up her spare time.
