We are delighted to be sponsoring Team Bath Netball’s first home match of the 2016 Vitality Superleague season – which takes place this evening (Friday 12th February) and is already a 1,600 sell-out.
The game will feature no less than three Royal High School teaching staff in the Team Bath squad: Director of Sport Sarah Penny and international players Rachel Shaw and Claire Brownie.
The match at the University of Bath Sports Training Village will see Team Bath take on 2014 champions Manchester Thunder with both teams unbeaten so far this season.
As part of the School’s sponsorship the home team players will be escorted onto the court at the start of the match by 14 Royal High School pupils.
Director of Sport Sarah Penny said: “It is great for the school to be supporting such a high profile fixture against one of our main rivals.
“We have a passion for sport, keeping fit and maintaining a healthy lifestyle for our girls at the Royal High School. We take pride in our performance and provide a variety of competitive opportunities to train at a higher level and represent our school. I know the girls are as excited about Friday’s game as we players are. We hope we can put in a winning performance.”
Jo Duncan, Head of the Royal School, added: “We are delighted to be sponsoring Team Bath’s first home game of the season. The school has really strong links with the team and a proud tradition of high performance in netball.
“Sport is a vital ingredient of life at the Royal High School. As well as helping to maintain a healthy lifestyle it gives the girls skills that are transferable beyond the classroom – grit, determination, leadership, teamwork and responsibility.”
