Young Musician of the Year competition 2022

This year sees the launch of the annual Young Musician of the Year competition for all Senior School students.

For students who sing or play a musical instrument, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to show your musical talent whilst gaining House Points at the same time.

All activity will take place on Thursday 3 February at our Steinway Music School, with heats taking place throughout the day.

At 19:00 on Thursday 3 February final will take place, adjudicated by professional musicians, with the results being announced once all performances have been completed.

Rules of entry

• You may enter in more than one category
• You may not enter more than one item in one category
• All songs/pieces MUST be performed with the original accompaniment or backing track
• You need to inform your tutor which category you wish to enter by Friday 28 January
• If you require a piano accompaniment, please get copies of the music to Mr Bradbury by Friday 28 January

Prizes

• Every person who enters will gain 2 House Points
• 10 House Points for every winner in each category
• 50 House Points for each Young Musician of the Year
  
• The overall Young Musician of the Year will be awarded larger shields
• The house with the most points accumulated will be awarded the ‘House Music Trophy’
