This year sees the launch of the annual Young Musician of the Year competition for all Senior School students.
For students who sing or play a musical instrument, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to show your musical talent whilst gaining House Points at the same time.
All activity will take place on Thursday 3 February at our Steinway Music School, with heats taking place throughout the day.
At 19:00 on Thursday 3 February final will take place, adjudicated by professional musicians, with the results being announced once all performances have been completed.
Rules of entry
- You may enter in more than one category
- You may not enter more than one item in one category
- All songs/pieces MUST be performed with the original accompaniment or backing track
- You need to inform your tutor which category you wish to enter by Friday 28 January
- If you require a piano accompaniment, please get copies of the music to Mr Bradbury by Friday 28 January
Prizes
- Every person who enters will gain 2 House Points
- 10 House Points for every winner in each category
- 50 House Points for each Young Musician of the Year
- The overall Young Musician of the Year will be awarded larger shields
- The house with the most points accumulated will be awarded the ‘House Music Trophy’
