Royal High Drama Students Shine at the Mid-Somerset Festival 2025

In a remarkable display of talent and dedication, 46 Royal High Drama students took part in the prestigious Mid-Somerset Festival 2025 in Bath, showcasing their skills in a range of Speech and Drama categories. 

From solo and duo acting, to verse speaking and prose reading, the girls competed in various events over three days that challenged their abilities and pushed them to new heights.

Our students received an incredible number of first, second, and third-place awards, but what truly stood out was the courage and determination of our students. Whether placed or not, every participant demonstrated a passion for the craft, stepping forward to challenge themselves and embrace the spirit of the event.

“I could not be prouder of our Speech and Drama students! Each, and every one of them put in a great deal of rehearsal time and effort to perform some excellent work in the festival this year," said Mrs Selina Lattuca, Head of LAMDA at Royal High . “This is our school’s biggest presence and accomplishment at the festival to date, with many being placed by the adjudicators in the top three. It was a delight to take part in the many categories on offer—Acting, Verse Speaking, Prose Reading, Sight-Reading, Public Speaking, and Reading Aloud to name a few. It was inspiring to see so many of our girls enjoying and broadening their Drama repertoire. Congratulations to all who took part—you are all superstars in our eyes!”

As we celebrate success at the Mid-Somerset Festival, we look forward to seeing how our Speech and Drama students continue to flourish in future performances and festivals. Well done to all who took part!
