Sofia finishes 16th in South West Cross Country Championships

RHSB student, Sofia, finished 16th in the South West Cross Country Championships at RNAS Merryfield, Ilton. Sofia ran a distance of 4.8km in the U17 Women’s race despite the conditions being incredibly muddy and having to continue running the last 2km with only one shoe!
Sofia said: "The South West Cross Country Championships was a tough and very muddy race with a field of very talented and fast girls. I managed to surge mid race and work my way to 16th passing multiple girls with only one shoe. This wasn't a challenge I was expecting to face, but I fought my way to the finish and earned a Team Bronze medal for Avon. Despite the conditions, I really enjoyed the experience, all my training and support from my coach really paid off."
