Charity book fair for Cambodia
Senior School
During Reading Week our Cambodia Club students helped to raise money for one of our sister schools in Keo Ropov, Cambodia. Some of the girls from Cambodia Club have since issued a letter to the school thanking everybody for their involvement with the event. You can read this below.
"On Friday the 21 January we held our Cambodia Charity Book Fayre.
Thank you to everyone who took part. Over 70 students got involved in exchanging books they would recommend to other students and we have raised over £250 to allow students in Cambodia to be gain a similar access to the love of reading. It was fascinating to see the variety of genres that were included and the types of recommendations people gave. We hope that everyone found a book that they will enjoy and be inspired to read.
Thank you to our library to Ms. Hillis and Miss Mercer for helping to organise and run the Book Fayre we greatly appreciate it. The amount of money raised is enough to completely restock the library in Keo Ropov school as well to buy other equipment that they will need.
Please continue to look out for future events to help support our sister school in Cambodia: we have set ourselves the target of raising £1000 by the end of this term."
