In June we hosted the annual TEFLIS Conference, hosting EAL (English as an additional language) teachers from a variety of schools across the region.

The conference featured a range talks on supporting students and improving provision across schools, whilst providing an opportunity for EAL teachers to get together and share their experiences and knowledge.

Speakers included:

• Dr Gail Forey on 'A sustainable whole school approach to PD and disciplinary literacy'
• Dr Reka R. Jablonkai on 'Disciplinary literacy - the added value of language corpora'
• Dr Adam Gargani on 'A critical approach to critical thinking'
