The Big Draw - Climate of Change
Senior School
Just before half term, the Art department launched ‘The Big Draw’ House Competition to tie in with the World’s Biggest drawing festival, The Big Draw. This year’s theme for The Big Draw was ‘The Climate of Change’. Students were invited to take part in producing a piece of drawing that reflected something about the natural world around them, or perhaps a comment on the climate emergency that we all face. The competition launched by looking at a range of different drawing techniques from around the world, thinking about both the conventional pencil on paper, or more unconventional interpretations of what a drawing can be, any mark, on any surface.
The creativity of the student’s responses reflected a wonderful range of ideas and materials, and house points have been awarded to the runners-up and winners in each year group. Please enjoy the examples below.
