Throwback to the '80s
Nursery and Prep School, Performing Arts
The girls had been rehearsing hard all term for their big moment which saw them all perform brilliantly.
There was an array of talents featuring singing, dancing, acting, drawing, baking, gymnastics and playing musical instruments - their enormous grins and boundless energy were infectious and reflected the enjoyment of the audience.
Taking us back to the 1980s, the students sang songs including ‘Everybody Wants To Rule The World’ and ‘True Colours’. When ‘Arthur’s Theme’ struck up, the audience were delighted to see Head, Mrs Lilley step into the limelight with her magic saxophone. The girls danced to Kylie’s ‘Locomotion’, Rick Astley’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ and Wham’s ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go Go’, amongst other '80s classics.
The audience joined in with a Crackerjack sketch and song; ‘Ooh I could crush a grape!’ and were amazed by the working conveyor belt which brought the Generation Game sketch to life - who doesn't remember the fondue set, sandwich maker and of course, a cuddly toy! Massive thank must go to Mr Woods who created the amazing set, and to Carole, Penny and the parents of the cast for the wonderful costumes.
“ We were so very proud of the girls for giving such confident and entertaining performances. It really was a joyous afternoon.”~ Mrs Millard and Mrs Bazley
