Africa Day recount – By Audrey, Year 4
In this recount I am going to tell you all about Year 4’s Africa Day and how fun it was.
First of all, we did some sewing to make African bags. They looked great, very colourful and lively. To follow on, we did some African dancing, all freestyle and African-y. Then we worked together to make African safari bread and shuka shuka (Nigerian coconut balls).
After lunch, we did some African drumming on the outside stage and it started to rain so Mrs Millard had to rescue her drums! Thank goodness the campfire was big and wasn’t put out by the torrential downpour! Thankfully, Mr Woods saved most of it by holding something over the fire. We cooked our bread on the fire and ate it on sticks. Then the rain got way too heavy and we went inside to eat our coconut balls before home time.
In conclusion, I think we all had an amazing time and enjoyed everything, even the rain!
