Year 4 Visit Bath Abbey
Prep
Last Monday, Year 4 went to visit Bath Abbey because we are learning about religious buildings in our Religious Studies lessons.
As soon as we got there, we were greeted by Polly and Melinda, who told us about some of the special clothes worn by the reverends at different times of the year. Some of us got to try on these clothes and even keep them on while we did a tour of the Abbey.
While we were in the Abbey, at 11 o’clock there was a two minute silence for Remembrance Day and we could hear The Last Post played just outside which was quite moving.
When we had finished our tour, we went to the Education Centre and learnt about Christian symbols, such as the dove which means peace. We used these to decorate tealight holders.
We found our trip very interesting and it was an experience never to be forgotten!
