Year 7 Students Embark on an International Treasure Hunt
Sixth Form, Senior School, Languages
Our school recently came alive with the sounds of different languages as our Year 12 Foreign Language Leaders hosted an exciting International Treasure Hunt for all Year 7 students. This fantastic event was designed to ignite a love for languages and celebrate the diverse cultures of the world in an interactive and engaging way.
Year 7 students eagerly took on the challenge, working in teams to solve clues that led them to different 'countries' set up around the school. Each station represented a different nation, where students had to complete language-based activities in French, German, Mandarin, and Spanish before moving on to their next destination. The competitive spirit was high as students raced against each other to solve the clues, reinforcing their problem-solving skills while developing their linguistic abilities.
The event was expertly organised by our dedicated Foreign Language Leaders, who planned every detail to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants. Their enthusiasm and leadership skills were evident as they guided and encouraged the younger students, making the treasure hunt both educational and fun.
At Royal High, we take pride in fostering a passion for languages and a global mindset from an early age. Events like this not only help students develop their linguistic skills but also encourage cultural awareness, teamwork, and confidence in using different languages outside the classroom.Â
The International Treasure Hunt was a resounding success, with Year 7 students leaving the event with smiles on their faces and a newfound appreciation for languages. A huge well done to our Foreign Language Leaders for their hard work and dedication, and to all the Year 7 students for their enthusiasm and participation. We look forward to more language-inspired events in the future!
