As a Steinway Music School, one of only 250 worldwide, our students benefit from exceptional opportunities, including workshops, masterclasses, and recitals with world-renowned artists such as Joanna MacGregor, Charles Owen, and Lise de la Salle. We actively collaborate with leading professional musicians and ensembles, including Bath Philharmonia and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, and maintain strong links with major conservatoires to support students preparing for auditions and interviews. 

Music is ever-evolving, and we embrace technology to enhance our students’ experiences. Our state-of-the-art recording studios and A Level Music Technology course provide aspiring producers, composers, and sound engineers with the skills to thrive in the modern music industry. Virtual collaborations, online tutorials, and digital resources ensure that all students can explore music in ways that best suit them. 

A diverse musical landscape 

Music at Royal High School Bath extends far beyond traditional ensembles. Our Samba Band and African Drumming Group bring together students of all ages and abilities, enriching our diverse musical offerings. Dedicated opportunities for composers, songwriters, and conductors are also embedded in our programme, with specific concerts and collaborative projects designed to showcase their talents. Our Community Choir, involving local residents, parents, and staff, has flourished over the past decade, performing alongside our school ensembles in a wide range of musical events.

As part of the Steinway family, we proudly house a fleet of 10 Steinway pianos, including a stunning Model B in our 60-seater Recital Room. This prestigious affiliation allows our students to perform in Steinway-sponsored masterclasses and concerts, further enhancing their musical development. 

Our students also have the opportunity to experience international music tours, with past destinations including Barcelona, France, and Germany. Looking ahead, we are excited to plan performances at Steinway Halls in London, New York, and Beijing, providing our students with truly global musical experiences.
