Our recently refurbished Food Technology room contains a full range of modern cooking equipment, including a brand new Sous Vide machine.

This exciting and creative course focuses on practical cooking skills to ensure students develop a thorough understanding of nutrition, food provenance and the working characteristics of food materials. Through cooking, experiments and classwork girls learn about Food, Nutrition and Health, Food Science, Food Safety, Food Choice, Food Provenance.

At its heart, this course focuses on nurturing practical cookery skills and giving a strong understanding of nutrition and how to be an informed consumer. With links to local food businesses such as Celia Adams (an alumna)from award-winning Bath Cake Company and guest visitors including Great British Bake Off favourites Mary Berry (also an alumna of our school) and Frances Quinn, the girls are supported in their studies by a fantastic range of opportunities and cooking competitions. Our well-appointed, modern and light Food room is a fantastic environment for inspirational cooking and is well resourced with equipment for modern and traditional styles of cooking.
